The Raja Ampat archipelago owns the worldwide record of the greatest number of different species found in one single dive. What else do we need to say?…….ok, just add the most pristine and colourful coral gardens, outstanding landscapes, primitive fishing villages and of course, Paradise Birds! Leaving from the port of Sorong, in the “Bird’ s head peninsula”, we will travel through the archipelago from the island of Waigeo in the north to Misool in the south. The area where we will sail holds the record of the biggest number of different species counted in a single dive. National Geographic compares the species found here with the ones that can be seen in Palau. The reefs of Raja Ampat enjoy a healthy marine biodiversity with more than 400 species of coral having been discovered here. Besides the abundance of fauna, this region contains numerous wrecks of Japanese ships and aeroplanes from the terrible battles held during the Second World War in this area. All the ingredients for a perfect adventure! From Sorong to the Dampier Straits and from there to Aljui Bay, West Waigeo. Next to Kawe-Wayag, on the Northern end of the group, and down to Fam. South to Misool and back to Dampier and Sorong. Diving in fringing reefs around vast “mushroom” islands that combine walls and slopes with plenty of passages, canyons and caves. Dive sites Waterlogged, a wall with caves and crevices rich in invertebrate life and critters is one of the highlights in the North. SardineReef is an underwater hill in the middle of the straits with schools of fish. In the South, Fiabacet, two little inlets joined by a ridge underwater, and muck diving in the jetties in front of the village of Yenbeser and Airborei. Also Jamur Boo, Manta Mantra and Black Beauty. Land Tours Early morning walk through the canopy outside a village to see the birds of paradise on a display tree. Visit to a Pearl farm in Waigeo. Tender boat tours through the labyrinth of inlets and lagoons in Fam and Misool. Climb to the top for breathtaking views in Wayag Island.
Breakfast onboard. Unfortunately our trip has come to an end and we have to say goodbye, but we hope to see you again soon!

Cenderawasih bay is a marine park located in the north coast of Irian Jaya, east of Birds Head peninsula. This marine park covers an area of approximately 80 square kilometres, which has become the largest National Marine Park throughout Southeast Asia. Because of its isolated location this bay is protected from the Pacific currents which promote the gathering of certain endemic species. In Cenderawasih Bay we can encounter in the shallows species that normally live in deeper waters. We will also find a wide variety of corals. The good muck diving will keep the lovers of the tiny and strange Critters busy, they will enjoy searching for Pigmy Seahorses, Tiger Prawns and Frog fish among other species. The whale-sharks are not the only attraction in Cenderawasih Bay, it is also popular for the WW2 wrecks in Manokwari and Mansinam, for the beautiful coral gardens in Biak, and for the atolls and rich drop-offs covered in black coral, sponges, sea fans and rich marine biodiversity. It is also a critter's heaven and pygmy sea horses, frog fish, nudibranches, ghost pipe fish, mimic octopus and large varieties of crab and shrimp are often spotted. Cenderawasih Bay is since 2002 protected by the National Park Status and new species are still discovered. The number of species listed has now risen to 1,596. Dive the wrecks around Pulau Amsterdam. If conditions are favorable, visit to the leatherback turtle rookeries at night. Sail to Biak.

The northern edge of the so-called Teluk Cenderawasih (literally Birds of Paradise Bay in the local language) was partially closed in prehistoric times by the islands of Biak and Supiori. This created unique conditions for the development of several endemic fish species in this region, as well as allowing other species usually found in deeper waters elsewhere in the archipelago to rise and thrive in shallower waters. This can be seen today by recreational divers. The region was also the scene of brutal naval battles during World War II, which left evidence of ship and aircraft wrecks at depths also accessible to recreational diving. But the star of the routes is undoubtedly the whale shark. Attracted by the small anchovies caught in the nets of the large trawlers that fish at night with the help of lamps, these gentle giants have become regular visitors to the area, guaranteeing close encounters with divers and freedivers.
Two morning dives on two of the Japanese WWII wrecks in Manokwari Bay, and preparations for departure the following morning.

On the last scheduled date guests must leave the boat in the morning, latest 12:00, so that we can start the logistics to get the boat ready for the next cruise. The Ondina “sleeps” in the disembarking port the night before disembarking therefore her guests can take the earliest flight out they want as we will arrange the transfer to the airport accordingly. The only thing to consider by our guests is that we follow the 24 hours safety stop (no diving before flying) therefore depending on their flight schedule on the disembarking date they will dive accordingly the day before.

From an evolutionary scientists' point of view, Cenderawasih Bay is considered as “the Indonesian Galapagos”. Dive the western end of Pulau Yapen, in Sewandeh and Slamiapien islands and other submerged reefs, with giant fans, soft corals and plenty of fish.
Few days wall diving in the atolls, in Tridacna Wall and Spag Point, and the shallow plane wrecks in Pulau Rouw.

Most widely known as one of the main stops along the old spice route, the Banda Islands are an isolated group of islands in the midst of the wide expanses of the Banda Sea. The remoteness of these islands has given it a fascinating, colourful history, including the fact that it was once the only place in the world where nutmeg grew. The diving here is usually fairly relaxing with mild current, good visibility and calm waters, but there are spots with strong currents. However, our experienced dive guides will of course properly brief you on the conditions to be encountered and will plan the dives according to divers’experiences. Intriguing remnants of the old lucrative spice trade are still present in Banda Neira and give a taste of colonial times. Explore Pulau Neira and spend the morning walking through its historic little town. The town is full of interesting houses dating back to the Dutch and English periods. There is also the well-preserved Fort Belgica with its fantastic views overlooking the waters around the island. We’ll visit a traditional nutmeg plantation where you will see nutmeg, cinnamon and clove trees nestled around the plantation farmer’s house. After the tour we will do one more dive in the Banda Islands before heading north to Nusa Laut. Lava Flow a famous dive site in the Banda Islands is at the bottom of a lava flow coming down from the peak of the Banda Api volcano. Underwater be amazed by the growth of hard coral when you take into account that the lava flowed into the sea in 1988, not so long ago. Few days dive in Nusa Laut.
Dive the reefs around Karang Pekelo.
Full day in Pulau Koon.
Full day in Kurkap atoll, with hammerheads are commonly sighted.
Dive the Watubela group.
Dive the reefs around Pulau Kaimeer.

Komodo & Rinca National Park : The narrow straits between these two islands communicate the Flores Sea with the Indian Ocean. Their tide currents provide a continuous exchange of water and nutrients between the inner sea and the ocean creating a unique ecosystem, favouring the biodiversity and the proliferation of peculiarities like the Frog fish or endemic species that can only be observed here, like the sea apple. The depths are densely populated with fixed life, with great underwater variety of landscapes, from diving in vertical walls covered with soft corals resembling the Red Sea gardens to stone structures resembling the cold water reefs of the North Sea. An average of 3 or 4 dives per day. Night dives almost every day unless conditions or long sailing distance do not permit it. Cruising the Banda sea involves more night powering than other routes, as we sail most nights, just to wake up every morning in a different location. But the adventurous divers are rewarded by impressive walls with giant sea fans, massive barrel sponges, thick schools of fish, and the common sights of pelagic fauna, including hammerheads.
2 dives in the morning depending on guest flight schedules.
Departure from the boat will be after breakfast or according to your flight and transfer schedules to the airport or hotel. Unfortunately our trip has come to an end and we have to say goodbye, but we hope to see you again soon!

Safety Briefing, Crew Introduction, Necessary Dive Paperwork, Cabin allocation and ship orientation will take place before departing the Harbour. During the journey to our first dive site for a check dive, please take this opportunity to familiarize yourselves with the vessel and make yourself comfortable. Check dive in the wreck of a PBY Catalina, a World War 2 American flying boat. Please Note: This is a sample itinerary and nº of dives, dive sites, etc. may be subject to change due to weather conditions and other unforseeable factors
Two days diving with the whalesharks under the local fishing boats (bagans).
Dive north Roon, Pulau Auri and the remains of a Zero plane wreck in Tanjung Ayami.

Two days diving the wrecks of the landing barges in Pulau Numfor, completely covered in soft corals and small fish creating little oasis of life on the white sand slope in which they lay.
Unfortunately our trip has come to an end and we have to say goodbye, but we hope to see you again soon!
