★ 5 · patrick reynolds · 2011-11-11Can't thank all of the staff enough, both the resort staff and our dive leader, Mahmoud, all were perfect for my wife and I. A first time diving in Egypt and Dive Urge offered a peaceful relaxing get away, nicely situated away from the busy main town but still easily close enough if you felt like a quick stroll into town. As for the diving good thorough briefings and explanations, from Mahmoud and who also went beyond what I expected and took the time to help sort my air consumption which has always been high while diving so that by the end I was equal to my wife. To cap it all they also seem to take their responsibility to the environment seriously, we really could not recommend them highly enough. we didn't head out on a dive boat so can't comment on that but the camel dive safari was exceptional.
★ 5 · Jules Williams · 2011-10-31I did a fair bit of diving in Australia 19 years ago before children. Last year with 13 year old and 16 year old we all went to Dive Urge as an introduction and so girls could do PADI open water. It was brilliant and this year they went back to do the advanced. Why is it so good? Very safe. Thorough scuba review by an instructor as part of your first dive. Good dive briefings which not only cover what you might see and the terrain but also where currents may occur and plan for what to do. My eldest had a few sinus problems and Ahmed our instructor was brilliant. Group size is 4 people maximum to an instructor. The instructors manage to time dives so you are not surrounded by other divers. It feels all about you and what you want from your holiday and your diving. Staying at Dive Urge is brilliant. There is a resident chef who gos the extra mile making Egyptian dishes not on the menu or dealing with dietary preferences. Highlights dive wise - being the only divers doing Bells to Blue hole and again only 5 people in the water on night dive Eel Garden. Would go back tomorrow if I could. Shore dives rather than boat dives so haven't rated boats.
★ 5 · THOMAS KIM · 2010-03-01I had a bad experience on a dive in Tobago. Dive Urge was my first dive since my accident. It took a couple tries, but the dive master, Ahmed, was very patient and more importantly, SAFE. I am now comfortable in the water again thanks to the staff at Dive Urge. On arrival, I filled out the standard health form, but instead of it getting filed away, they took me to the local doctor who gave me a very thorough exam and then wrote instructions for depth, down time and surface interval (I am diabetic and over 45). They have a very nice chamber as well. Dive Urge as a resort is nice and quiet. I like quiet, not partying. They only take 4 divers per dive master on the dives. I have been to Moorea, Bora Bora, Hawaii, Thailand, Tobago and a few others and Dive Urge is the first that I would go to a second time.
