About Galapagos Aggressor III

Based at Santa Cruz Island, Ecuador, the Galapagos Aggressor III is a PADI dive boat built around comfort, safety, and stability. Welcoming up to 16 guests, it pairs serious diving with genuine ease at sea, offering four deluxe staterooms and four master staterooms — each a private retreat with its own toilet, warm-water shower, hair dryer, TV/media centre, temperature controls, and a safe.

Diving and what it's known for

PADI scuba diving anchors the experience, and enriched air (Nitrox) is available for divers who want to extend their time below. A battery charging station keeps cameras and lights ready, while Fish ID and diving books help you make sense of what you've seen. Warm-water showers and Wi-Fi (for a fee) round out the practical side.

Communal spaces set the tone: a spacious salon, a covered cocktail deck with lounges, a bar and grill, and a hot tub for unwinding. Evenings bring presentations on marine life, films, and games. With English and Spanish spoken on board, it suits divers looking for a well-appointed, sociable base.

This has been an absolutely stunning and phenomenal experience! As my first liveaboard, I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect, but I knew that Aggressor was highly rated and I wanted to experience a new part of the world. I was not disappointed; in fact, my expectations were far surpassed. The dive staff and entire crew were phenomenal – I really cannot say enough good things about them. Our two dive guides, Walter and Richard, shared an incredible amount of information about each site, the local history, the species we encountered, and the vital role each creature plays in the Galapagos ecosystem. Part of why I love diving is learning about the ocean and how we can protect and appreciate it, and they delivered on this perfectly. The ship's crew was equally wonderful. A huge thank you to Ruben, Omar, Junior, Josalito, Captain Rufino, and everyone else who made this trip so seamless. They went above and beyond every single day to ensure every detail was taken care of, from the delicious meals and pristine cabins to the dive equipment and panga transportation. The ship itself is immaculate and so well-maintained. I rented a full set of dive gear (wetsuit, mask, snorkel, fins, BCD, and regulator), and every piece was top-notch. While the itinerary is intense and highly scheduled, the crew manages the logistics flawlessly. We stayed perfectly on track and on time every day as we navigated the islands. You never feel rushed, which is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the captain and crew keeping everything running smoothly behind the scenes. I cannot recommend this trip highly enough. The dives are incredible, and seeing the marine life in such a unique part of the world is truly life-changing. Between the world-class diving, the exceptional service, and the ship itself, this trip is worth every penny and every second on board. I absolutely cannot wait to come back and am already planning my next trip with Aggressor!

I went on a live aboard dive boat in Galapagos in 2018 and loved it so much I returned in 2022 with five family members and friends on the Aggressor. The staff on the boat were all professional and worked hard. On our week we had 11 divers who had a lot of scuba experience. Unfortunately four days into our trip one of the two Dive Masters had an injury due to no fault of his own which prevented him from diving with us. This meant that we had one Dive Master with 11 divers in very strong currents. There were times when this was dangerous because our one Dive Master was preoccupied with filming for the underwater video that was for sale at the end of the trip and he needed to be more attentive to the safety of the divers. Overall the staff and food was good. The cabins were clean but a bit small. The dive equipment needed servicing. We rented several items including an Nitrox meter that was not reading correctly and we had to change it out two times before we got a reliable meter. The itinerary was very good and our Dive Masters did really care that every diver saw the varied marine life unique to the Galapagos. One other important safety fact is that the Zodiac boat needs to always have life jackets and a powerful flood light at night. We had a near disastrous collision with a buoy in cold water with no life jackets on. This could have proven to be life threatening.
