Plan this trip with AI →The Pearl of Papua is a 30-meter traditional Buginese schooner built for diving expeditions in Raja Ampat, Indonesia. Since 2021 the vessel has been steadily renovated, with the latest upgrades completed in January 2026 — a renewed hull, refreshed lounge and indoor restaurant, and new upper-deck cabins with panoramic glass windows.
Registered as a PADI Dive Boat, the Pearl of Papua runs itineraries of 6 to 10 nights across some of the region's most celebrated sites, including Cape Kri, Chicken Reef, Sardine Reef, Mioskon and the Penemu Islands. A spacious dive deck offers individual gear stations and rinse tanks, while three tenders keep access to the reefs quick and easy. Enriched air (Nitrox) is available for an additional fee, and rental equipment can be arranged.
Accommodating up to 15 guests across seven en-suite, air-conditioned cabins, the schooner suits divers who want comfort alongside their expedition. A professional crew of 12 — including experienced dive guides and chefs — looks after buffet-style Indonesian and Western meals, with English and Indonesian spoken onboard.

★ 5 · Shera Goldenberg · 2025-10-19My husband and I did our first liveaboard on the Pearl of Papua and what an amazing experience. Yayu and her team were fantastic. The group of people were fun and many stories were shared. I can say that from the food, service and diving everything was detailed and truly made it a magical experience for us.
★ 5 · Colin McDaniel · 2025-10-19Yayu and her team we just exceptional, knowledgeable and the best hosts he could have asked for! Their passion for what they do reflects in the results with the food, dive quality and the activities they arranged. We will be back for the trip to the South soon!
