SS Thorfinn

Since 1981, the SS Thorfinn has welcomed divers to the pristine Micronesian seas of Chuuk, better known as Truk Lagoon. A fully outfitted liveaboard, it's built around flexibility: guests can board or depart on any date, with fast launches handling airport transfers and shore transport so there's no need for accommodation ashore unless the ship is fully booked.

Diving and daily life aboard

This PADI Dive Boat supports enriched air (Nitrox) diving across Truk Lagoon's varied sites, with two 10-metre launches powered by twin 150 hp engines plus two additional fast boats to reach a wide range of locations. Experienced local guides lead the way, and camera workstations, rinse areas, and air and technical filling stations keep photographers and technical divers well equipped.

Between dives, the Thorfinn offers ten air-conditioned staterooms for up to 20 guests, a dining lounge seating 22 with chef-prepared meals, a comfortable salon, a large seawater hot tub, and a shaded sundeck. Free Wi-Fi, warm-water showers, a battery charging station, and fish ID books round out a vessel suited to divers who want comfort and self-sufficiency in one of the world's great wreck-diving destinations.
