Halberstadt, Germany · Dive Center
Plan this trip with AI →Right beside the diving centre lies the Sundhäuser See, a lake known for its particularly clear water. Covering about 60 hectares and reaching a maximum depth of 31 m, it offers varied — sometimes confusing — bottom formations and lush vegetation that extends down to 20 m. Seagrass meadows spread across the lakebed, while perch shoal from just two metres down, alongside large mirror and silver carp, pike, eel, rudd, zander, crayfish and catfish.
With four diving points, all fitted with stairs leading directly into the lake, the site suits every level. Four wrecks of different sizes have been sunk here, so experienced divers can perfect their wreck skills while beginners train in safe surroundings. Reconstructed at a depth of 10–12 m, the underwater city of Nordhusia — with its church, houses, city wall, tower and cemetery — is unique in Germany.
A PADI 5 Star IDC centre with 6 PADI instructors, it offers PADI and TecRec training, an onsite pool, air fills, nitrox, equipment sales and rental. English and German are spoken.
