UBC Aqua Society

Housed on the University of British Columbia campus in Vancouver, the UBC Aqua Society has been a fixture of Canadian diving since 1958, making it one of the oldest scuba clubs in the country. As a PADI 5 Star Instructor Development Center with five PADI instructors on hand, it puts diver training front and centre.

What it offers

The centre runs its courses with an onsite training pool and classroom, plus free Wi-Fi to keep things comfortable between sessions. Beyond instruction, you'll find air fills, nitrox, equipment sales, servicing and repairs, and a full rental range covering everything from a 7mm wetsuit and drysuit to regulators, BCDs, and both steel and aluminium cylinders.

Membership is open to anyone who is already a certified diver or enrolled in an open water course, so it suits newcomers starting out as much as experienced divers looking for a club, gear, and travel connections. Instruction is offered in English.
