This speedy sailing catamaran offers routes that showcase the best dive sites, allowing you to explore the gin-clear waters of the Exumas while diving into the rich marine life, including blacktip and hammerhead sharks.
As a floating hotel, the Cat Ppalu provides a comfortable atmosphere for relaxation between dives. Enjoy amenities such as free onboard Wi-Fi and a variety of activities, including snorkeling, wind surfing, kayaking, and island exploring. With itineraries that span six nights and include 18 dives, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to immerse yourself in the pristine underwater parks, enhanced by unique experiences like shark feeding sessions and the chance to see the spiny lobster migration.
Boarding begins at noon Check in, safety briefing, lunch and dinner Set sail at approximately 3 pm. Sail to the Exuma from Nassau
Dive, eat, sleep and enjoy (itinerary subject to weather and season) Divers will have the opportunity to do approx 26 dives on this trip We shove off for the Exumas and/or Eleuthera very early Once we leave port, you’ll escape the hustle and bustle of the city to the pristine Exumas Enjoy incredible sunsets and breathtaking scenery Many of our sites are frequented by Caribbean Reef Sharks and Nurse Sharks. We sometimes see hammerheads too We normally offer at least one shark feed on each trip This is the perfect time to see sharks up close and in action The Exuma Cays offers nice opportunities to go ashore and explore and enjoy the uninhabited beaches (weather dependent) For these occasions, we highly recommend proper footwear for these eco adventures. Flip flops are not suitable In addition to the incredible scuba diving and snorkeling, you will have a great time exploring the 365 mostly uninhabited islands of the Exumas with their many beautiful beaches. You can beach comb, kayak, explore the islands Take advantage of all the great photo opportunities like feeding the iguanas on Allan’s Cay or the Swimming Pigs at Pig Island (weather dependent) This is truly the best of the Bahamas- diving the Exuma Cays Nassau Lost Blue Hole -The rim of this large blue hole lies in 40' of water surrounded by coral heads, sting rays and many schools of fish. Periwinkle Reef -This is a shallow patch reef that is teaming with fish. Exumas Amberjack Reef - A 50' patch reef that was the site of our Exumas shark feeding dive. Austin Smith Wreck - A 90' Bahamian Defense Force Cutter that sank in 1995 while being towed to San Salvador to be sunk there as a dive site. This wreck has many sharks swimming around it and a wall just to the east. Barracuda Shoals - This bankside patch reef has huge schools of fish as well as many small critters on the reef and surrounding sand. Cracked Coral Head - This massive coral head rises 40' off the bottom. Several large swim-thru's make it looked like it is cracked. Dog Rocks - This reef starts at 35' and slopes off to 50' before dropping straight down into the Exuma Sound. This is one of the best dives in the Bahamas. Many pelagics frequent this reef, especially eagle rays and sharks. Jeep Reef - This is one of the prettiest reefs you will ever see. The strong current that sweeps through this cut keeps the reef 's corals very healthy. Pillar Wall - One of many excellent wall dives. There are many caves and crevices. There is a large colony of yellowhead jawfish in the rubble inside the reef. The Washing Machine - The strong incoming tide of up to 6 mph takes scuba divers thru a narrow cut where water drops off a ledge and then makes a sharp bend to the left. This causes the water to swirl like the water in a washing machine. Wax Cut Drift - Divers and Snorkelers alike fly over this 30' reef at over 2 knots. You will see rays, sharks, eels and numerous fish as you drift with the current in the cut between the islands. Whale Shark Wall - This wall is named for the whale sharks that have frequented this area for several winters. Like all of our walls, when you stare into the abyss, you never know what you might see. Whale Tail Wall - A great wall just south of Wax Cut. Large parrotfish roam the sand inside the reef while sharks & eagle rays are frequently seen off the wall. Southwest Eleuthera Cave Rock - The large variety of corals and fish will amaze you. We have frequently seen Hammerhead Sharks here. Jake's Hole -The highlight of this dive is the vibrant corals surrounding the hole. Because it is very tidal, scuba divers aren't permitted to enter the hole. Monolith - Large mounds of coral rise out of the sand at the edge of the wall. They start at 100' and rise to 55'. There is a colony of Garden Eels in the sand next to the mounds.

How do I get to the docks? Taxis are readily available from the airport, or with prior arrangements our office can arrange for transfers. The cost for one way in a taxi is approximately $35.00. We can arrange private transfer service for $15.00 each way per person. Cat Ppalu is docked at the Nassau Harbour Club. What time can we board? You may board after 12:00 PM on Saturday. We like to shove off by 3 pm at the latest to make the trip from Nassau to the Exumas during daylight hours. We can, of course, stay longer to accommodate later arrivals as this is a charter only vessel. Keep in mind that if it gets too late, then the captain may decide to leave early Sunday morning instead of Saturday afternoon for safety reasons. We recommend flights that land no later than 2 pm to make the 3 pm departure. What time do we disembark? The Cat Ppalu returns to Nassau Thursday early evening. We still serve dinner and provide lodging at the dock. This is your night in port so that you can experience some of the local culture. All passengers must disembark Friday by 9:00 AM.

★ 5 · Jens Ludwig · 2025-05-22Best of Bahamas is more than accurate. Stacy is not only the boss, but also a marvellous cook. Bill the skipper does his job very routinely and thoughtfully to the passengers. In stormy weather he kept calm to give the passengers a relaxed atmosphere. He let me steer the Ppalu as I have a skipper's licence. I was also allowed to take the dinghy to a beach with other passengers. Every dive was a dream, unfortunately I had seasickness on the best dive with wreck and sharks. From the first minute on board there was a family atmosphere and you were always treated warmly, no matter what your concerns were. I'm looking forward to hopefully seeing you again soon and perhaps with one or two familiar passengers from the last trip. Kind regards from Germany. Jens with his Translator ☺️
★ 5 · Hanne Ockert-Axelsson · 2022-05-11The best dive crew in the Caribbean - they really went above and beyond to make our week really special and memorable. Huge shoutouts to Hoppy, Jen, Alex, and Maira!
★ 5 · Paul Sanfilippo · 2021-11-07We had an excellent time diving on the Cat Ppalu for 1 week in the Exumas. Diving days were Sunday - Thursday with time for 16 dives where 1 day we did 2 dives and sailed down to see the swimming pigs. The crew were excellent, the food was amazing, the diving was great, and the sailing was relaxing. The trip went perfectly and it was one of the most relaxing, enjoyable dive trips I've ever been on. We will definitely go back again in the future. My wife thinks diving on Cat Ppalu was our best dive trip ever.
