★ 5 · Percy C. · 2021-08-01The resort and dive staff were all amazing. The resort - when I arrived there was just another guest (a diver). The bungalow I was in was spacious, clean and facing the water. The staff were polite, loved their jobs and very happy to share their lives and stories about their home. I even had the opportunity to visit the village outside the resort to see how they live and meet some of their families. The food was amazing and made to order by very gifted chiefs. The dive resort is staffed by staff who love what they do. I did my AOW with a great instructor who was very patient since I had not been in the water since 2019. The local dive master I had the pleasure of diving for 3 days just him and I, the passion they have for their sites was amazing. They went out of their way to ensure I had an amazing experience. The marine life is amazing, the water is so clean - I did not see one piece of garbage on the sea floor. Having fellow divers in Zanzibar at the same time, my experience was the exact opposite as theirs, full of marine life, amazing corals, etc. If Tanzania is on your list to dive, Big Blu on Mafia Island will be your hidden gem, you won't be disappointed.
