Kuredu Island Resort & Spa

Overall, a very nice resort with a well-run dive centre. The food is excellent, the staff are attentive and the rooms are beautiful. The dive centre is pricey; before rushing to book all boat dives I would recommend to thoroughly explore the house reef, which is stunning. We saw eagle rays, sting rays, nurse sharks, both black and grey tip reef sharks, tons of parrot fish, turtles, lobsters, octopus, trigger fish...the list goes on! There were a couple of things we weren't happy with: The tanks were never filled to 200bar despite our repeated requests. The answer that it 'might be down to my husband's gauge' doesn't ring true as my own gauge and our two friends' who were travelling with us, gauges all consistently read 190bar before each dive. Travelling 1000's km and spending a good deal of money on a dream dive trip, we did not expect to be met with a stinginess on air fills. Secondly, the interest sheet we were asked to fill in before travelling was never really referred to once it actually can to organising the dives, which was disappointing. We found ourselves poorly matched on a couple of boat dives, which to me is an indication that no attention was paid to our dive preferences, really. Even when I specifically asked to not visit a particular dive site again after neither of us enjoyed it, we found that it was the second site on a two-tank trip the day after I made my request. To sum it up: If you like resort stays you are going to love it. Be prepared to be 'tempted' to book additional activities etc that will incur extra charges, but I guess that is the nature of these places. The dive centre is well organised but their service could be more personalised. The staff are very friendly but words need to be matched by actions in order to not come across as just well-rehearsed lines.

I had a great experience staying at Kuredu resort. As a solo traveler, i felt very safe and well taken care of. Great service and great value. Staff goes above and beyond to ensure safety and comfort. Their award winning PADI dive center was amazing! I had a great diving experience! Staff is very knowledgable and values safety first! I am very happy with my visit and I am already planning my return to Kuredu! Highly recommend it!
