Über Karpathos Diving Center
Auf der abgelegenen und wunderschönen Insel Karpathos nimmt das Karpathos Diving Center (KDS) einen besonderen Platz in der lokalen Tauchgeschichte ein. Nach der Änderung des griechischen Rechts, das Unterwasseraktivitäten erlaubte, wurde KDS Anfang 2007 zur ersten Tauchschule der Insel. Die Zentrale liegt im Herzen von Pigadia, der Hauptstadt von Karpathos, direkt neben der großen Kirche Aghi Apostoli.
Kurse für jedes Niveau
Als PADI 5 Star Tauchbasis mit fünf PADI-Tauchlehrern führt KDS Schulungen in kleinen Gruppen nach den Standards von PADI International durch und legt dabei großen Wert auf Sicherheit und den Schutz der Unterwasserwelt. Es stehen 15 Kurse und Aktivitäten zur Auswahl, darunter der PADI Advanced Open Water Diver über etwa drei Tage oder ein halbtägiger Tagesausflug für zertifizierte Taucher mit einer Dauer von rund fünf Stunden.
Das Karpathische Meer ist weitgehend unberührtes Tauchrevier mit mediterraner Meeresfauna und Sichtweiten von mehr als 25 Metern. Mit moderner Ausstattung, Wasserlage, eigenem Tauchboot, Nitrox, Klimaanlage und kostenlosem WLAN ist KDS die ideale Anlaufstelle für alle, die Karpathos unter Wasser erkunden möchten – auf Englisch, Griechisch oder Polnisch.

★ 5 · Linda Marsh · 2009-09-30I booked two dives in the morning with Stratos, the director of the Karpathos Diving Centre. As it was towards the end of the season I had a full choice of dive sites - all very clearly explained. We met up and he equipment was all very good as promised. Another less experienced diver joined us and he was also briefed and checked - he had been allowed to join us as it was a suitable site for novices. His briefing on-site was very clear and thorough. He went at the right speed for me to take photos and helped sort out some problems with my camera settings and took some photos of me as well which was much appreciated. He was very good at pointing out fish, which I had said was my main interest. Sadly, like the rest of the Med there aren't as many as there should be. Stratos had set up the dive centre 2 years ago as he was fed up with being asked to look after groups that were too large on another island and wanted more control. He now restricts group sizes - I think he said to a maximum of 8 if experienced. He was a very competent and enjoyable person to dive with - I'd have no hesitation recommending him.
