Fiji's Shark Diving Pioneers

Some dive centres follow the beaten path. Aqua Trek Beqa carved its own. With over 30 years of history on the shores of Fiji, this PADI 5 Star Dive Resort holds the distinction of being the pioneers of shark diving in Fiji — and three decades on, it's still what they're best known for.

The centre runs two signature experiences on a fixed rhythm. The Ultimate Shark Encounter dive runs Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, while Soft Coral Diving takes over on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday. Beyond sharks, the waters of Beqa Lagoon are home to whales, turtles, rays, eels and echinoderms.

This suits divers who know their gear and are comfortable in the water — the shark dive is very active, and Advanced Certification is highly recommended before you attempt it. Open water certified divers aged 15 and up may join it with a certified guardian, while junior certified divers from age 12 are welcome on Soft Coral Dives under the same condition.

With 2 PADI Instructors, an onsite training pool and classroom, an Adaptive Services Facility, onsite accommodation and full equipment rental including kids' gear, Aqua Trek Beqa is built for both learning and the long haul.
