Blackbeard - Sea Explorer

Off Chub Cay in the Bahamas, the Blackbeard - Sea Explorer is a classic 66 ft. liveaboard built for divers who want adventure and camaraderie in equal measure. For years it has carried adventurous travellers into the Exuma Cays, where shark encounters, colourful reefs, blue holes, caves and vibrant marine life await in warm, clear water with visibility of 20–30 meters.

Diving and courses

As a PADI Dive Boat, Sea Explorer welcomes both newcomers and seasoned divers, with courses running from introductory to advanced levels (Nitrox is not available). With up to 19 dives each week, itineraries take in highlights such as the Lost Blue Hole, Periwinkle Reef and Amberjack Reef, guided by a warm, welcoming crew.

Life aboard is simple and social — often described as "camping at sea." Eighteen dormitory-style bunks sleep up to 22 guests, each with a privacy curtain and air-conditioning, and there's buffet-style dining plus plenty of room to relax between dives. Facilities include free Wi-Fi, warm-water showers, a battery charging station and Fish ID and diving books, with English and Spanish spoken. It suits adventurous divers chasing authentic Bahamian diving and new friendships in a relaxed setting.
