Blue Planet LLC is a different kind of dive operation, built to give divers in Washington, DC the best in scuba education and travel while channelling the thrill of diving toward protecting our fragile oceans. As a PADI 5 Star IDC with 30 PADI instructors, the centre pairs serious training with a genuine conservation mission.

Courses, training and who it suits

Instruction here is personalised and flexible, shaped around each student's needs and busy schedule. Newcomers can begin with First Steps to Scuba: New Diver Orientation, while those ready to go further can pursue Lead the Adventure: Become a PADI Professional. There's also Women's Dive Day with Blue Planet, from USD 50. It's an ideal fit for city divers who want an operation that connects them to ocean life and its threats.

Dives explore sites including Juturna Springs, Lake Phoenix and Sandy Point State Park, with sharks, whales, turtles and freshwater fish among the marine life. On-site you'll find a classroom, retail shop, free Wi-Fi and air conditioning.
