★ 1 · Elizabeth King · 2015-01-28I'm an experienced diver and bought an inter- island dive packet from Bora Diving. I was traveling aboard the cruise ship Holland America as the lecturer on Marine Biology. Dan - our dive master, repeatedly grabbed living coral. Between dives I asked, trying to pose it as a question, "Shouldn't not touch live coral?" No," he said "It is not fire coral and won't hurt you." "But don't the oils on your hands damage it?" I asked - He began yelling about how he knew things and coral could not be killed. I didn't argue, and didn't tell him I was a lecturer on biology - it would have been like lecturing with a drunk. Then he got very flirty. In addition there were some very inexperienced divers on our boat and he did not aid them, so they had to abort their dives. He Also buried food in the sand to attract groupers - I have been on plenty of dives where they chum - but I have never seen someone disturb a large patch of the ocean floor to bury food for a fish before. As part of the dive-packet Bora Dive was supposed to set us up dives on two other island. We were only there for one day each. He called them - and then said -" At the first island go to the pier and at the second it's easy just go to the next at the dive center when you arrive." At the second Island we missed the first dive because while we waited at the pier, the dive masters were at the tourist center. We did get a second dive, but instead of taking us past the shore we did a dive right from their pier to a wreck. Visibility was zero. We saw one terrified squirrel fish frozen in the dive master's flash light. Worst of all at the third island one of the two dive shops, the one Dan had said he'd called, had closed. So we did not get to dive at all. It was our only day in there and supposed to have fabulous diving. And Dan had known this and not told us. I met a diver there who knew Dan and said he was not surprised as he is known as "the crocodile" for his big mouth and short legs I was horrified at the state of the coral all over the French Pacific - But most saddened that dive masters are destroying the sea that is their lively hood. DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE YOUR BUSINESS. Oh one last thing - they charged my credit card twice.
★ 5 · Randi Goldblatt · 2009-08-12My husband and I honeymooned in Bora Bora in April 2009 and we started our certification back home in New Jersey and completed our certification in Bora Bora with the most amazing open water dives imaginable. I had contacted the Bora Diving Center before we arrived and set up all the details via email. Yvon was a great host and arrived on time everyday to pick us up at the Four Seasons. Although the sharks freaked me out at first I couldn't believe how beautiful the sites were down under. We learned alot from Yvon and his crew and would highly recommend using the Bora Dive Center if you want to have a great experience.
★ 5 · Martin Hristov · 2009-06-06If you ever go to Bora Bora and you are interested in diving, do yourself a favor and dive with Bora Diving Center. They are really profesional, good organized, the dive locations are absolutely fantastic - lemon sharks, grey reef sharks, black tips, rays, turtles, coral life. Me and my wife did 10 dives each with them and this will be one of my best memories!
