Qawra, Malta · Dive Center★ 3

Plan this trip with AI →Buddies Dive Cove is a PADI 5 Star CDC centre in Qawra, Malta, and it wears its reputation lightly: guided diving in small groups, beginners genuinely welcome, and a team of 5 PADI Instructors ready to help. With in-house Course Director Martin Stanhope on site, training runs the full ladder from Open Water all the way to Instructor. As a PADI Authorised TecRec Centre, it also carries technical progression from Tec 40 through to Trimix Instructor.
Across 13 courses and activities, you'll find PADI Discover Scuba Diving from USD 96, Peak Performance Buoyancy, Deep Diver, Wreck Diver, Advanced Open Water eLearning and the Divemaster programme. Dives explore Malta's celebrated wrecks and reefs — the P-29 Patrol Boat, Tug Boat Rozi and Cirkewwa Arch — plus the caves and lagoons of Comino Island, from Santa Marija Cave to Lantern Point.
An onsite classroom, free Wi-Fi, a retail shop, air fills and nitrox round out the setup, with staff speaking English, Spanish and German. It suits first-timers and career divers alike.

★ 4 · Amanda Battman · 2014-05-22We took our PADI Advanced Open Water at Buddies. It was booked via email from the UK and the whole process was very smooth. Training and safety was excellent. At all times we felt looked after and comfortable. Each dive was taken at our own pace with encouragement and support. We took some of our own equipment, but items borrowed looked fine. Of course they were not brand new but I didn't expect that it would be. We were able to leave our gear between dives although we were expected to wash all kit - not sure if that is normal, but not a problem. The Instructor, although young, was patient and gave us confidence. I would recommend this centre for fun dives as well as learning.
★ 1 · Andrew Carrie · 2012-06-11Dived with this Dive centre, in May 2012. Staff were at best, 'offish'. I hadn't dived properly for 5 years, but had done a refresher dive in UK in 2011. I'm a Divemaster. The Dive guide , who happened to be an EX policeman from the uk, was hardly a dive guide at all, but continuosly MOANED about the Maltese.! The dive was supposed to be a wreck dive and they changed it at the last minute to a nothing but grass and rocks dive ! The equipment was old and torn, and in summary I would never visit them again.
