About Gozo Dive Aqua Sports

Tucked into Marsalforn on Gozo, the "Jewel of the Mediterranean," Gozo Aqua Sports delivers professional-but-enjoyable scuba diving holidays. As a PADI 5 Star IDC centre with two PADI Instructors, the team's goal is simple: give you the best possible experience of Gozo's diving so you leave happy and come back for more. It's also a rebreather-friendly centre.

Courses and diving for every level

Complete beginners can choose entry-level courses lasting from just half a day up to the full five-day PADI Open Water Diver qualification. Qualified divers are well looked after too, with all PADI courses right up to Instructor level, accompanied diving from shore or boat, and keenly priced packages for the independently minded.

Dives run direct from the shore or by boat, suiting individuals and large groups alike. Gozo's celebrated sites include the 16-metre Blue Hole and the remains of the Azure Window at Dwejra, the Um El Faroud oil tanker, the Karwela, Cathedral Cave and Comino Island's Santa Marija Cave. English is spoken, and parking is available on site.

For those who haven't dived Gozo, you're missing a trick. Certainly for us Brits, it's very handy, just 2.5 hours out of Heathrow, a short trek across Malta and hop onto the ferry to Gozo and you're there. We've done two long weekends there in the last year and plan to go back for more. It's pretty much shore diving all the way, with a few tricky entrances and exits. If you do go, I cannot recommend Gozo Aqua Sports in Marsalforn highly enough. Thanks to George, our main man there, but also to Mark our dive master this time round, their discipline and focus on safety and enjoyment is key. The groups are small, often just us and a couple of DMs. Trips go out am and pm and you can get night diving but our's was cancelled this time round due to strong winds and the invasion of the jellyfish (thousands of them!). Recommended dive sites are Inland Sea, the MV Karweller, a 36m wreck dive, the Blue Hole of course, and try and get to the Comino caves if you can - stunning. Don't miss out on shallower dives with plenty to offer and a full hour and 10mins underwater! We haven't done any photography yet, but the opportunities to get great shots are fantastic . You get to see a fair bit of the Gozo landscape as well as you drive from site to site. If you stay in Marsalforn, try Il Kartell or Pierre's for food, and Smugglers for drinks (or Bojangles if you want to talk to British ex pats). And Maria Giovanna for B&B (Tiramisu for breakfast anyone?).
