Compass Diving

Compass Diving is a PADI 5 Star Dive Resort and Green Fins Member set on Atauro Island, off the coast of Timor-Leste. From its waterfront base in Beloi on the island's east coast, the centre is run by four PADI Instructors and built around exclusive, small-group experiences in English, Spanish, Malay, Portuguese and Indonesian.

Courses and dive trips

The centre offers a full range of PADI courses and activities, from Discover Scuba Diving and the Atauro Island Dive Trip to the Advanced Open Water Diver course and overnight trips. Shorter options like the Dili Local Boat Trip and Coastal Dive Trip round out the programme, with speed boats and the 17-metre catamaran Sundance available for diving and snorkelling.

Divers explore reefs and pinnacles including Illicnamo Pinnacle, Biquelli Wall, Doro, Inner Reef, the Compass House Reef, Watuwai and Raiketa, with chances to encounter sharks, whales, turtles and ocean fish. Facilities include an onsite classroom, house reef, dive boat and onsite accommodation — well suited to those who want a relaxed, personalised diving stay.
