About Dive Bequia
Tucked within the gardens of the Gingerbread on the Belmont Walkway, Dive Bequia is quite possibly the prettiest dive shop in the Caribbean. As a PADI 5 Star Dive Resort with 4 PADI Instructors, the centre welcomes divers daily from 0830 until 1630, and its waterfront setting means the two dive boats are easy to board straight from the dock at the Gingerbread complex.
Courses and diving
Bequia's gently sloping reefs are ideal for the novice or intermediate diver, so the team runs a full spread of PADI training — from Discover Scuba Diving and the Open Water Diver Course to Advanced Open Water and a ReActivate refresher for returning divers. A typical day pairs a morning two-tank dive with a single tank in the afternoon, with guided dives from the boat also on offer.
The marine life is a real draw at sites such as Devils Table, where you might meet Hawksbill turtles, black-tip sharks and tarpon six feet in length, alongside near-invisible sea horses, basket stars, harlequin pipefish and the odd bat fish. With beautiful beaches and famously friendly people, Bequia suits divers who want warm-water reefs in an easy-going setting. Instruction is in English.

In 2009, we obtained our Open Water Certification with Dive Bequia. It was a fantastic experience and we decided to return this year to continue our training. We can't say enough positive things about the Dive Bequia Team. The owners, Bob and Cathy, set the tone at this family-owned dive shop. It is a welcoming, inviting spot. Cathy has a wealth of knowledge about Bequia and everything to do with diving. She was a tremendous help and went out of her way to answer all our questions. The Dive Instructors and Dive Masters both years were very professional, knowledgeable and FUN. This year we were diving with Chris and Liz. We had a great time developing our skills and becoming more confident divers. They were able to easily accomodate our individual needs, interests and skill levels into the dives. The trips were well organized, relaxed and while there was a sense of fun and adventure, at no time was safety compromised. Chris has a unique ability to encourage the timid and challenge the brave ... and leave you feeling great about your diving experiences. Many thanks, Chris.
