Plan this trip with AI →Operating since 1991, Eaglehawk Dive Centre is a PADI 5 Star Dive Centre set at Eaglehawk Neck on the Tasman Peninsula in southeastern Tasmania, only 1 hour from Hobart. It's the gateway to the spectacular Three Capes Track and the historical site of the Port Arthur convict settlement.
The centre opens onto a great diversity of sites, from the famous Cathedral Cave and the historic wreck SS "Nord" to the magical sponge garden at Sisters' Rocks. Divers can share the water with very playful fur seals or meet the bizarre weedy seadragon, alongside a rich cast of marine life. With sites suited to every level from novice to technical, EDC works for newcomers and experienced divers alike.
Two PADI Instructors lead the courses here, and several staff are marine biologists with extensive local knowledge built over thousands of hours diving the Tasmanian coast — including professional underwater photographers and videographers. On-site facilities include a training pool, classroom, retail shop, dive boat, accommodation and free Wi-Fi, with air fills, nitrox and equipment rental available.

★ 1 · Stephen McClounan · 2012-10-08I've dived all around Australia. I stupidly thought no dive shop would go out in the weather conditions that presented themselves on the day. Despite the incredibly bad weather (see BOM weather report below) Karen @ Eaglehawk Dive Centre told me they still went diving. Amazing! Recommendation: don't put down a deposit unless: you KNOW the weather wil be OK, are acclimatised to arctic conditions or are willing to forfeit your deposit. 100km/h winds and heavy rain are NOT safe (or fun) diving conditions in my world. Also, I would have expected a confirmation phone call if they were planning to dive in such conditions. No refund was given so I won't be back. Other dive centres did not ask for a deposit; so I would recommend you book with another dive centre. I liked Bicheno Dive Centre as they did not ask for a deposit, they went out in good weather conditions, and I got a free Ningaloo DVD. BOM Weather Report , Sunday, 20 February 2011 Max Wind Gusts: 100km/h Rain: 22.8 mm
