First Coast Divers has been a trusted name since it first opened in Jacksonville, FL in March of 2007. Owned and operated by Dan Mechelke, the shop was built on a simple idea: pair the highest quality products with genuine, personal service and treat every diver the way you'd want to be treated. Today it serves the waters around St. Augustine as a true hometown dive center.

Training and services

As a PADI 5 Star Dive Center with 6 PADI Instructors on staff, First Coast Divers has partnered with PADI to deliver dependable education, from PADI Scuba Diving courses to PADI First Aid – EFR. An onsite, air-conditioned classroom keeps learning comfortable, while air fills, nitrox, equipment sales, and scuba rental cover divers at every stage.

The center works exclusively with Aqua Lung gear and its family of products, and even offers travel support for divers looking further afield. With instruction in English and a focus on lasting relationships built on trust, it suits new students and returning divers alike who value quality and hands-on care.
