Garuda

GARUDA is a PADI Dive Center based in Osaka, Japan, with its shop in Nagoya. It sits near Hatta Sogo station, the gateway to the west of Nagoya, so reaching it by Kintetsu, the subway or JR is straightforward.

Training and facilities

PADI scuba diving instruction is the heart of what GARUDA does, and the centre is set up for it: there's an onsite training pool for confined-water sessions and an onsite classroom for the theory that goes with them. Food and drinks and parking round out the practical side of a day spent learning.

Beyond courses, the centre handles air fills and nitrox, sells equipment, and services and repairs gear. Scuba equipment rental is extensive — regulators, BCDs, dive computers, masks and snorkels, boots, full-foot fins, flashlights, gauges, compasses, cameras and scooters (DPV), plus aluminium cylinders in large and small sizes. Wetsuits come in 3mm, 5mm and 7mm as well as shorty, with drysuits and children's sizes also available. Travel services are offered too.

Staff speak English and German, making GARUDA a comfortable fit for international divers in the Nagoya area.
