Haigh Quarry

Haigh Quarry is a PADI 5 Star Dive Resort near Chicago, offering a friendly freshwater training ground for divers of every level. The quarry covers 13 acres, split into two sections by a beach walk-in entry. The north side reaches a maximum depth of 25 feet, making it ideal for first-timers, while the south side averages 60 feet and drops to 80 feet at its deepest for more experienced explorers.

What You'll Find Underwater

Part of the fun here is the collection of sunken attractions, including a swamp boat, a rock crusher left from the site's working-quarry days, a LARC, a step van, a 33 foot boat, and a military dump truck. The real highlight is the variety of fish — Bass, Blue Gill, Muskie, Perch, Northern Pike, Catfish, and Paddlefish donated by the Shedd Aquarium — plus turtles and frogs.

With 4 PADI Instructors, an onsite training pool, and a classroom, Haigh Quarry is well suited to beginners and certifying divers. Courses include PADI Discover Scuba Diving, Open Water, Open Water Referral, and Advanced Open Water Diver.
