Japan Dive Shop

Set on Deception Island along the Antarctic Peninsula, Japan Dive Shop is a PADI dive centre staffed by a team of 8 PADI Instructors. With courses and activities taught in both English and Japanese, it's a welcoming base for divers who want structured instruction in one of the world's most remarkable settings.

Courses and what to expect

The centre runs the PADI Open Water Diver course for newcomers earning their certification, alongside Full-Day Dive Trips for those ready to log time below the surface. Beyond recreational training, the team is involved in conservation activities, reflecting a commitment to the waters they dive.

Divers here may encounter a wide range of marine life, from sharks, whales and turtles to ocean fish, corals, anemones, molluscs and crustaceans. On-site facilities make learning straightforward, with a classroom, air conditioning, an aquarium and deep pool, parking, and accommodation right at the centre.
