Diving from a private island

COMO Laucala Island sits in Fiji's Cakaudrove province, a private island resort where private charters can land directly. Between dives, complimentary massages, meals and beverages add that extra touch of indulgence to a stay.

The onsite PADI Dive Centre puts two of the area's best-known draws within reach: the Rainbow Reef and the renowned Great White Wall. Inner reef excursions are possible at mid- and high tides, while every outer reef site sits within a 45-minute boat journey. Thanks to the island's remoteness, you'll very rarely encounter another dive boat out there.

PADI-certified instruction covers all levels, from Bubblemaker for ages eight and up through Open Water and Night Dive certifications. How long a course takes depends on whether you've completed the dive theory at home — recommended — though a complete beginner can generally be certified in four days, with complimentary refresher instruction on hand.

An onsite classroom, free Wi-Fi, a house reef, dive boat, air fills and scuba equipment rental round out the setup. Instruction is in English, and the centre is open 08:00 AM – 05:00 PM daily.
