OCEAN TATEYAMA

Ocean Tateyama is a trusted PADI 5-Star Dive Resort based in Tokyo, Japan, run by a friendly couple whose passion for the water shows in everything they do. With three PADI instructors on hand and both English and Japanese spoken, it's an approachable base for divers looking to explore the local waters.

Courses and diving

Certified divers can join the Full-Day Dive Trip, while the standout experience is the ITO Shark Dive (伊戸 シャークダイビング) — a chance to get close to the sharks the area is known for. Beyond scuba, the centre also offers trial diving and snorkelling, making it welcoming for newcomers as well as seasoned divers. The surrounding waters bring encounters with sharks, whales, turtles and ocean fish.

On-site you'll find a clubhouse with overnight accommodation for divers, free Wi-Fi, food and drinks, a retail shop and parking. Rental gear runs from dry suits to dive computers, and MIKI, who runs the shop, is skilled at underwater photography with SLR digital cameras.
