Training-focused diving on the Northern California coast

Pacific Scuba Divers is a PADI 5-Star IDC Facility built around one idea: giving divers the best training available. The team teaches every specialty PADI offers, right through to Instructor Development Courses, and it is the only certified PADI TecRec Center in Northern California. With 25 PADI instructors on staff and English, French, German, Japanese and Chinese spoken, there is usually someone who can teach you in your own language.

The dive sites read like a tour of the region's shoreline — Breakwater, Del Monte Beach, Monestary Beach and Carmel River State Beach, plus McAbee, Lovers 1, 2 & 3, Point Lobos, Stillwater Cove, Coral Street, Otter Cove, Copper Roof House, Butterfly House and Hidden Beach. Ballbuster runs to 100 feet, and Shadow Cliffs Regional Recreation Area in Pleasanton rounds out the inland options. Divers here encounter sharks, whales, turtles and ocean fish.

Facilities cover an onsite classroom, air conditioning, Wi-Fi, a retail shop, parking and a dive boat, with air fills, nitrox, equipment sales and rental including kids' gear, rebreather (CCR) and scooter (DPV). A dive club, conservation activities and travel round out a centre that suits anyone from snorkellers and first-aid students to technical and rebreather divers, and instructor candidates.
