PAPALAGI Diving School Fujisawa

Celebrating its 40th anniversary, PAPALAGI Diving School Fujisawa has turned countless ordinary weekends into something worth waiting for. Based in Tokyo, the school offers free use of 11 locations across Tokyo and Kanagawa, running over 1,000 tours a year alongside events and deep-sea seminars. With more than 40 full-time instructors, courses run every day, and there's no minimum group size or extra charge for going solo.

Courses and training

From complete beginners to professionals, everyone can earn qualifications here, with flexible schedules on weekdays, weekends, or consecutive days. Pool lessons take place in a dedicated indoor heated pool — one of few in the Tokyo metropolitan area — while the Yugawara store adds a 25m swimming pool and a deep diving pool for practising everything from first breaths to neutral buoyancy and emergency response.

Ocean training unfolds at the Jogasaki Coast, and the Izu Branch sits just a five-minute walk from the sea. Afterwards, gourmet events and marine seminars turn training days into a chance to make friends who share the same diving dreams.
