Swim With the Manatees at Crystal River

Set on Florida's Crystal River, Plantation Inn Marina is a PADI Dive Center built around one of the world's most popular freshwater dives. This is the winter home of the West Indian Manatee, and divers travel from around the world to swim among these gentle giants in the springs of the Crystal River, Rainbow River and Kings Bay area.

The springs flow from underground, pumping millions of gallons of pure water daily at a constant 72 degrees Fahrenheit — ideal diving conditions year round. In winter, this pocket of Florida hosts the largest concentration of manatees in North America, with up to 350 gathering in the warm water.

The center works closely with local, state and federal governments and wildlife organisations to protect the manatees, and awareness instruction is part of every tour program. On-site you'll find parking, air fills and scuba equipment rental, with English spoken throughout — a natural fit for anyone drawn to a truly unique freshwater wildlife encounter.
