Reef Conservation International

On a small private Caribbean island along the Belize Barrier Reef, Reef Conservation International (ReefCI) blends world-class diving with hands-on marine conservation. Based at Tom Owens Caye near Placencia, this PADI Resort invites eco-volunteers to take an active role in protecting the reefs they've come to explore, funding ongoing conservation projects through their visits.

Courses, dives and conservation

ReefCI offers PADI Scuba Diving and PADI Snorkelling, along with PADI First Aid – EFR training, so both new and experienced divers have room to grow. Days here are built around meaningful conservation activities — from swimming with a whale shark to spearing the invasive lionfish that threaten local coral.

The centre's own house reef and dive boat put the underwater world within easy reach, while onsite accommodation plus food and drinks make it simple to settle into island life. With everything run in English, ReefCI suits divers who want their time in the water to leave the ocean a little healthier than they found it.
