S Home Dive

Tucked into the Chaikou District of Green Island, Taiwan, S Home is a private diving hotel opened by Sam — known locally as the underwater postman — and his wife. The "S+" name nods to a couple whose names both begin with S, and the quiet, private setting gives their guests a relaxed, unhurried base for exploring the water.

Courses and diving

As a PADI Dive Center with 4 PADI Instructors, S Home is built for divers taking their first steps beneath the surface. The Open Water Diver course runs over roughly 4 days, from USD 505, with instruction offered in Mandarin and Cantonese.

Divers head out to the site of 石朗, where the marine life ranges from ocean fish and turtles to sharks and whales. On the practical side, the center provides air fills, Nitrox and a full slate of equipment rental, plus a dive boat, parking, air conditioning and free Wi-Fi. With professional local instructors and a calm island atmosphere, it suits newcomers and anyone after an easygoing Green Island diving trip.
