Scuba Center and Outdoor Rec

Family owned and run out of Solomons, Maryland, Scuba Center and Outdoor Rec is a full-service scuba shop where diving is clearly a passion. The staff bring more than 75 years of combined scuba experience, and the whole place is built around one simple goal: making sure you have fun. Walk through the door and you'll feel the family-friendly atmosphere straight away.

Courses and diving

As a PADI Dive Center with 3 PADI Instructors, the shop covers scuba diving and snorkelling classes for divers at every stage, plus equipment sales, air fills and a well-stocked retail floor. Rental gear runs from BCDs, wetsuits (3mm and 5mm) and dive computers to masks, fins, compasses and children's sizes, so kids and travelling divers are welcome too.

Local waters here are known for sharks, whales, turtles and ocean fish. With air conditioning, on-site parking and English-speaking staff, it suits families, new divers and anyone wanting a relaxed, knowledgeable base for classes, gear and trips.
