Scuba IQ

Set on the Great Barrier Reef out of Port Douglas, Australia, Scuba IQ pairs guided reef tours with the full run of PADI training. What sets the centre apart is scale: group sizes cap at a maximum of 4 divers, with no minimum numbers per course, so instruction stays close and personal. With high-quality equipment and years of expertise behind them, the team runs to three different dive sites per day.

Courses and dive sites

The PADI Resort fields 4 PADI Instructors across seven courses and activities, from PADI Discover Scuba Diving and PADI Scuba Diver through Advanced Open Water, Deep Diver and Enriched Air. Certified divers can join the Premium Guided Dive Trip, while the Premium Open Water Diver Course rounds out the line-up.

Regular sites include Blue Buoy, Bashful Bommie, Advanced Bommie, Anybody's, the Agincourt Ribbon Reefs, Barracuda Bommie, The Wedge, Steve's Bommie and The Cod Hole — reef waters home to sharks, whales, turtles, rays, eels and ocean fish. An onsite training pool, dive boat and English- and Spanish-speaking staff make it a comfortable fit for new and experienced divers alike.
