Since 1977, Scuba Shack Divers has served Connecticut and Southern New England as a trusted PADI Five Star Instructor Development Center. With more than 45 years behind it — including a Course Director with 19 years of experience and four Master Instructors on staff — this Hartford center has built a reputation for expert instruction and serious dive travel.

Courses for every level

Whether you're starting out or chasing a professional rating, Scuba Shack offers PADI certifications from Open Water all the way to Instructor. Standout courses include PADI Advanced Open Water Diver, the "Blue to Brilliant: Diving into Underwater Imaging" program for budding underwater photographers, and PADI Tec 40 Diver for those moving into technical diving.

The center backs its training with a fully stocked retail showroom, air conditioning, free Wi-Fi, parking and an onsite classroom. Services run deep too, with air fills, nitrox, trimix and mixed gas, plus equipment sales, rentals and kids' gear. Divers here head out on warm-water adventures, cool-water technical trips and local drive-and-dives across Southern New England — encountering sharks, whales, turtles and ocean fish along the way.
