Shimoda Mikomoto Divers

Based in Shimoda, Shizuoka, Shimoda Mikomoto Divers is a PADI Resort with a team of 8 PADI Instructors ready to guide you through the waters of the Izu Peninsula. The shop dives mainly at Kumomi, Tako, and Hatsukizaki in Nishiizu, along with Susaki in Higashiizu.

Kumomi — the home ground

Above all, the dive point of Kumomi, with its interesting terrain, is the centre's true home ground. A short boat ride gets you there in about one minute — and since you can swim to the point, it's reassuring for anyone prone to seasickness. The staff know these waters intimately, so you can explore with a local guide who really knows the site. On a day of diving, you can typically enter the water 3–4 times.

A full range of rental equipment is on hand, so it's easy to sort out anything you need. On-site you'll find a classroom, air conditioning, free Wi-Fi, food and drinks, and parking. With English, Japanese, and Malay spoken, it's a welcoming choice for divers of all backgrounds.
