Set between the lakes of East Tennessee in Johnson City, Smoky Mountain Divers is a full-service PADI 5 Star Instructor Development Center. With 10 PADI Instructors on staff, the center specializes in Recreational, Technical, Public Safety, and Professional Dive Training, so divers at every stage — from the curious first-timer to the aspiring pro — will find a course that fits.

Courses and local diving

Training runs the full range: try the Discover Mermaid experience from USD 55, dive into the PADI Enriched Air Diver course from USD 268, or begin your certification with the PADI Open Water Diver Course via eLearning from USD 739. Enriched air (Nitrox) is available for those ready to extend their time underwater.

Local exploration centers on freshwater favorites like Philadelphia Quarry, Rainbow River, Gray Quarry, Devil's Den, Blue Grotto, and Loch Low-Minn Quarry. On land, the shop offers gear sales, rentals, and repairs, plus an onsite classroom, Adaptive Services Facility, air conditioning, free Wi-Fi, and parking — everything a welcoming home dive shop should be.
