Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands · Dive Center★ 3.5
Plan this trip with AI →Set on the beach at Morritt's Tortuga Club and Resort in the East End of Grand Cayman, Tortuga Divers by Red Sail Sports has served the island's divers and snorkellers since Red Sail Sports invested in the operation in 2002. As a PADI 5 Star Dive Resort with five PADI instructors, the centre places a heavy emphasis on safety and on protecting a fragile marine environment — every staff member holds current Emergency Response and O2 training.
Training runs from PADI Scuba Diving and Freediving through Snorkelling and EFR First Aid, supported by an air-conditioned classroom and a fresh-water pool right on site. Nitrox, equipment sales and rental (including kids' gear) round out the services, with English, French and Danish spoken on the crew.
Explore Grand Cayman dive sites such as Old Isaacs, Jack McKenney's Canyon and The Maze, where sharks, turtles, eels, corals and reef fish share the clear water. With a house reef, waterfront dock and locker storage steps from the beach, it suits divers who want quality diving without lugging heavy gear far.

★ 5 · Luis M. · 2013-03-15Honestly, by reading the other reviews except for one or two that were actually accurate, I can tell these divers are blaming the dive company for their own lack of effort. Ok, you've been diving for three years, that's fantastic! But wait, oops, you've dived in the ocean once? Ok, maybe you should try the A.O.W. course and get better, but you can't just arrive somewhere with that much experience and expect the dives to be heaven. You have to try hard, and if you're looking for a dive company that will support you and teach you along the way, there's no place better than Tortuga Divers. I'm under the age of fifteen, and I've been diving for eight months. I've had several problems while scuba diving in the early stages including sea sickness, and I would always use up my PSI before everyone else, but guess what? I love scuba diving, and I'm not going to let these mere obstacles get into my way. I'm sure you don't live by that philosophy, though. Nigel, Fozz, Travis, Doug, Caz, and everyone else were about the most encouraging people in the Cayman Islands. I got to the Barefoot Resort - we would walk every morning and afternoon to the dive shop in the Morritt's - having only like 12, 13, or 14 dives, and I was quite unexperienced. These guides, however, taught me so many valuable lessons and have given me so much experience that I feel like as if I've been diving for a long time. I hope you guys change your attitude and stop blaming Tortuga Divers, because they're absolutely fantastic. Sincerely, Luis
