Plan this trip with AI →For more than 35 years, Tusa Reef Tours has been sharing the magic of the Great Barrier Reef from its home base in Cairns, Australia. Proudly locally owned and operated, this PADI dive center has built its reputation around half-day snorkel and introductory diving tours — an easy way to experience the reef without committing to a full day on the water.
Tusa specialises in introductory dives that require no experience, alongside snorkelling for every skill level. Trips run Thursday through Monday aboard the TUSA 6, a modern catamaran custom-built for reef cruising and easy water access. Numbers are capped at just 60 guests for a relaxed, spacious day with a high crew-to-passenger ratio.
Inclusions are generous — wetsuits, lycra suits, prescription masks, snorkel gear and an educational marine presentation. Below the surface you may spot sharks, turtles, whales and reef fish. Voted Best Regional Dive Operator by readers of Australasia Dive Log, Tusa also holds Advanced Ecotourism and Climate Action Innovator certification, making it a friendly, conservation-minded choice for outer-reef adventures.

★ 5 · Micheal Rogers · 2016-11-06A very slick operation, was put under some pressure to enter water when entry was obstructed by other divers and snorkelers grouped around the rear of vessel which made me feel a little uncomfortable at times (maybe ask the dive guides to move divers away from entrance platform) but understandable when dealing with a large group of people entering the water at the same time. Recommended.
