On the tranquil northern side of Ishigaki Island, Japan, Umi-no-Kyoshitsu has been welcoming divers for 24 years. As a PADI 5 Star IDC Resort with 2 PADI instructors, it's a place built around careful teaching — thorough lectures paired with thorough support, so you can dive with confidence whether it's your very first time or your first descent in years.

Courses for every level

From complete beginners to those aiming to go professional, the centre offers PADI-recognised courses that place safety at the heart of every experience. PADI Scuba Diving and PADI First Aid (EFR) training round out an approach that has earned recognition from the world's largest diving organisation.

Divers here share the water with sharks, whales, turtles and ocean fish. A waterfront base makes heading out easy, with an onsite classroom, dive boat, retail shop and parking on hand, plus air fills and equipment sales. Instruction is offered in Japanese.
