Plan this trip with AI →Undersea Tobago Ltd. is a PADI dive centre owned and operated by the husband-and-wife team of Derek and Evelyn Chung. With over 30 years of diving in Tobago's waters, they bring the local knowledge and experience needed to make every dive both exhilarating and safe. The operation is based at the multiple-award-winning Coco Reef Resort at Store Bay, with two-tank trips for certified divers departing from the resort's private beach.
Newcomers can get their first taste of the sport through PADI Discover Scuba Diving, while the Half-Day Dive Trip suits those ready to spend more time below the surface. Single-tank tuition dives and snorkelling trips round out the programme, making this a welcoming choice for beginners and certified divers alike.
The centre works the Caribbean and South coasts, where rock reefs are dressed in encrusting sponge and coral. Signature sites include Flying Reef, the Maverick Wreck, Cove Ledge, Mount Irvine Wall and Diver's Thirst — a varied line-up spanning reefs, walls and wreck diving. English is spoken throughout.

★ 4 · Louise Rettie · 2010-03-26I had a great time diving with Undersea Tobago and would recommend them to divers whether experienced or not. The Undersea Tobago diveboat is moored in the Coco Reef hotel's swimming lagoon so getting on and off the boat is very easy; the dive shop is a few yards away on the beach. Marlon and Ellis, the divemasters, were helpful, knowledgeable and great fun. They assisted those who wanted help with their kit but stood back for those happy to assemble their own. With fairly strong currents and surface swells on most dives, the dive entries and exits were well choreographed and managed. During my stay we only dived at the southern end of the island (will have to go back another time to dive Speyside!) but there's a lot to see. The drift dives (such as Flying Reef, Cove and Runway) are quite fast so you need to concentrate hard on staying in touch with the rest of the group whilst appreciating the abundant soft coral and marine life. The Maverick is a simple dive and a good introduction to wrecks. The diveshop provides clean rinse tanks and hanging/drying space for kit, and secure overnight storage. I'd recommend wearing a full wetsuit (3mm+) as though the water is warm on the surface, it can get chilly on a morning 2 tank dive trip.
