Plan this trip with AI →Underwater Connection is a PADI 5 Star IDC dive center based in the Milwaukee area, where a team of 22 PADI Instructors guides divers of every level — from first-timers to instructors — through training and group trips alike.
The center's cornerstone is the PADI Open Water Diver course, the first step toward certification. It runs across 5 classroom modules and 5 pool skill-development sessions, plus a written quiz and an open water evaluation. The schedule is built so you can finish the classroom and pool work in a single weekend, with the open water evaluation following the next week, conditions permitting. Beyond entry-level training, the shop offers PADI First Aid (EFR) and conservation-focused programs.
Facilities include an onsite classroom, air conditioning, a retail shop and parking, with services spanning air fills, Nitrox, equipment sales, and scuba and kids' equipment rental. There's a dive club, travel options and conservation activities too. With English spoken and a welcoming mix on every group trip, it suits new and experienced divers alike.

★ 5 · rodney burrington · 2009-03-03I signed up to do the Open Water Diver course in Jan. 2008....and did the classroom, and confined water work with them, and received my reference paper work to take to a more tropical locale...... My plan was to to the indoor work in Wisconsin in the winter, and go on vacation a couple of weeks later, and do my "Referral dives" where it is warm in the winter.... I went to Cancun, did my referral dives at Nautilus Dive Training and Scuba Freds......see comments about them elsewhere...they are great! I have some anxiety issues, so, after going to Cancun and doing the open water dives, I came home to Wisconsin, and in the middle of summer, I did a Scuba Refresher course with the Underwater Connection....and then also went out to their quarry dive area....nice vis, lots of fish...got more comfy with the underwater scene.....so that when I returned to Cancun a year later, I was very comfy with the water, and the depths..... I did an equipment specialist course at UWC, and although it was a bit overwhelming, it re-assured me about my equipment, and what I could do to maintain, and keep things working.....I am looking forward to going to their fall season "scavenger hunt" at one of our local dive sites....a former quarry.....now a county park! I am still just an Open Water Diver, not an Advanced but.....will work on it! I don't like the cold water, and will not be doing it if I can help it! You guys/gals that do....well, so be it! Send me to the Tropics.... rodney
