Wolf Rock Dive Centre

Tucked into the picturesque beachside town of Rainbow Beach, Queensland, Wolf Rock Dive Centre sits just 2.5 hours north of Brisbane and 1.5 hours south of Hervey Bay. Its namesake site is a series of volcanic pinnacles, gutters and gullies — some as deep as 38m — rising 2km off Double Island Point. Long considered one of the best dives in Australia, it's a must-do for anyone travelling the East Coast.

Wolf Rock is significant to the East Coast population of grey nurse sharks, found here year-round, and its cleaning stations draw several species of ray, including manta rays between April and October. Expect sharks, turtles, whales and ocean fish across this protected green zone.

As a PADI 5 Star Dive Centre with three PADI instructors, the team runs everything from the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Course to the Wolf Rock Full-Day Dive Trip, plus PADI specialties and first-aid courses. With a waterfront base, onsite classroom, retail shop, air fills, nitrox and equipment rental, it suits divers chasing one of the country's standout shark and ray encounters.
