YSS Dive

Tucked into Hoodsport, Washington, with the waters of Hood Canal right outside the door, YSS Dive is a PADI Dive Center built for divers at every stage. A team of 7 PADI Instructors runs charters and guided tours for certified divers, while newcomers with no experience can try Discover Scuba Diving and get their first look beneath the surface.

Courses and diving

Training runs the gamut from the PADI Open Water Diver Course, from USD 873 over roughly 3 days, up to the PADI Rescue Diver, from USD 1000. An onsite classroom, waterfront location, and a house reef make it an easy place to learn and log dives close to base.

Local dive sites include Port of Hoodsport, Flagpole Point, Glen Ayr, and sund rock, where divers may encounter ocean fish, sharks and rays, eels and echinoderms, molluscs and crustaceans, corals, anemones and jellyfish. With English and Spanish spoken, YSS Dive suits both first-timers and seasoned divers.
