★ 5 · Sibylle B. · 2021-10-30Best holiday EVER!! We loved the secludedness of this small beautiful island, it was an absolute dream. Bungalow on the beach, no shoes for 10 days, absolutely incredible diving. Never seen so many sharks at once!! Loved the scooter experience, it was perfect for taking underwater videos of sharks and rays. The food on the island was fabulous, staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and the dive center was super professional. Great instructors who really knew how to give you the best possible experience! We can highly recommend this island and the diving from there!!
★ 4 · Victoria C. · 2019-11-15Komandoo was a nice experience. We had some surprising issues, given the expense and comprehensive-care nature of the trip. These issues didn’t undermine the great experience we had, but could possibly be improved on for future guests: - Given that Komandoo could see exactly when our reservation was for, we were upset that a number of the “reservation only” activities were fully booked before we arrived, and we had not been given the opportunity to book them ahead of time. For example, it is offered to be taken to an aquarium restaurant off-island. The restaurant was fully booked for all meals for the duration of our stay, even though we asked about it immediately once we became aware of it. Similarly, the spa was fully booked for the duration of our trip, and we were not able to arrange treatments. We would have booked such activities ahead of time had Komandoo made us aware that they were offered and might need to be pre-booked. This was not during an especially busy time of year, so it was not an issue of high capacity. - Though we booked an “all-inclusive” package, it was in fact not all-inclusive. There were a number of food items, drinks, and activities that were considered “extras”. We found out at Komandoo that there are "all-inclusive" and then "all-inclusive-plus” packages, which seems like an unnecessary nickel-and-diming considering the resort fees. For another example, there is an uncharge for a “boat dive” even though there is no option to do a “shore dive”. - Though we were grateful to have Komandoo arrange our transfers, the resort would not provide us with the transfer details despite numerous requests. In this end, this meant that our last day was wasted. We were told we’d be transferring back to Male “sometime in the early afternoon”, so we did not want to plan diving or any other activities that might conflict with the transfer. Ultimately, we did not leave Komandoo until 5p, so we could have enjoyed a final day if someone would have told us when our transfer was arranged. All in all, the resort is breathtakingly beautiful, and the staff could not have been more kind or accommodating. The experience would be improved by addressing these issues above.
