★ 3 · Jodie P. · 2010-08-17Staff were helpful and accomodating prior to us booking our dives and were happy to arrange things so that our group of divers and non-divers could do a dive together. The set up was safe and thorough, however a bit impersonal at times - it did feel like they were just going through the motions a bit. However we did get on well with one instructor (out of about 5 instructors) and found him to be friendly. Some of our group had never dived before and did a discover scuba with a view to doing a dive with others of our group who are padi open water divers, later in the day. However the instructor put them off so much in the morning they decided not to dive again for the rest of the holiday! They found that the instructor was sarcastic and also expected them to know what they were doing and at times snatched equipment off them sighing and setting it up himself instead of explaining or setting it up calmly! He at one point had not made himself clear about what he wanted the group to do. They were supposed to be doing respirator recovery and because one of the students did not understand the signal to proceed with the task (or didnt understand what she was supposed to be doing) he just snatched the respirator out of her mouth - on her first dive this frightened her and i dont think she will dive again : ( I completed 2 dives and enjoyed them both although as i'd had a gap of around 2 years since my last dive i was a bit nervous and found that the staff didn't put me at ease but made me more nervous by standing back and observing me nervously setting up for the dive - i think if you are like me and dive infrequently it would be good if equipment was set up for you or with you... Anyway, i enjoyed what i saw and would dive with them again if i visited Meeru, however i would first suss out the instructor to ensure i didn't get the sarcastic, respirator snatcher!
