Safety Briefing, Crew Introduction, Necessary Dive Paperwork, Cabin allocation and ship orientation will take place before departing the Harbour. During the journey to our first dive site for a check dive, please take this opportunity to familiarize yourselves with the vessel and make yourself comfortable. Please Note: This is a sample itinerary and nº of dives, dive sites, etc. may be subject to change due to weather conditions and other unforseeable factors
4 dives, on the first day of our safari we start with a check dive on the Island #4. We then make the other dives at the Island #7. Possibility of a beach trip Chinese Wall - Located at the southern point of Koh Miang, Island number 4, Chinese Wall is named after the collection of granite boulders that stretch away from the southern point of island. The boulders begin above the surface and continue down underwater to a depth of almost 30m. These rocks form the swim-throughs, valleys, caverns and caves that make this site a diver's playground Deep Six - Located just to the north of Koh Pabu, Similan Island number 7, Deep Six is, as the name suggests, one of the deeper sites you're likely to encounter in the Similans. Huge granite boulders form a rocky V-shaped ridge that starts just 5m below the surface and plunges down beyond 40m. The 'V' points north into deep water and the sides of the 'V' form the reef slopes of the island.
4 dives/Similan – we will dive the best places of the Similan Islands, for example Elephant Head and the dive sites of the island #8. Chance to see Sharks and Rays. Furthermore we offer a land trip to Similan island #8 with its white beaches and crystal clear water. Elephant Head Rock - Located between islands 6 and 7, Elephant Head Rock, or Hin Pusa, gets its name from a rock that sticks out of the water and resembles a half submerged elephant. This site is another Similan favourite and its huge granite boulders have created a myriad of amazing swim-throughs, tunnels and caverns. Donald Duck Bay - Donald Duck Bay is located on the north side of Island Number 8, and is named after a rock on the north side of the bay that looks like Donald Duck's head. The rock is the most recognised and photographed landmark in the Similans and is best viewed looking in from the outside of the bay on the east side. If time permits, you can climb the rock between dives and enjoy the gorgeous panoramic view of the surrounding islands and the turquoise waters below. The island has a National Park camping area and Donald Duck Bay is one of the most popular mooring spots for both Day Trippers and Similan liveaboards. The bay provides good natural shelter and many of the boats spend the evening here. It's not the best dive site but the bay is great for Night Diving.
4 dives, we will do another 2 dives on the Island #9, the most northern island of the Similans. North Point - Located about 50m out from the north side of Koh Bangu, Similan Island number 9, North Point is the most northerly tip of the island chain. As it is just east of Christmas Point, it offers similar conditions - a huge granite boulder dive site where currents can be strong. Visibility is generally excellent between 20-40m. Then we sail to Koh Bon, one of the best known divesites for Manta sightings. Around the rock and on Koh Bon Pinnacle Rays are to be found. The best time is from middle of December till April. Koh Bon - As well as Koh Tachai, Koh Bon is part of the Similan Island National Park and is only an hour or so away from the Similans so it is worth special mention as one of the best dives sites in Thailand for Manta Rays. In addition to Mantas, it is also possible to find Napoleon Wrasse, Leopard Sharks, Eagle Rays and Black Tip Reef Sharks. The Koh Bon area is not, however, only about pelagics since Critters are numerous and varied which makes Night Diving here exceptional.
4 dives – we start with two dives on KohTachai. The place is known for Tortoise and Leopard Sharks as well as Mantas and with some luck also a Whale Shark. Koh Tachai - This site is often visited en route to Richelieu Rock from the Similans and is in fact an island which has several nearby dive sites. Koh Tachai Plateau is the best known of these and as the name suggests is a submerged plateau of hard corals and boulders. Typically of the area there are swim-throughs and channels all over the place. The larger fish include Manta Rays, huge schools of swirling Chevron Barracuda and large numbers of Tuna; and if the Whale Sharks are not at Richelieu, they may well be here. Then we sail to the Surin Islands where we will make the remaining two dives of the day. Tortoise, big Parrot fish, Reef Sharks, Napoleon and many other small reef inhabitants are to be found here. After the third dive we have the possibility to visit a Sea Gipsy’s village on the Surin Islands. The extensive reefs of the Surin Islands have the greatest hard coral diversity in Thailand. Though the soft corals and fish diversity are not quite as good as some of the other Andaman Sea destinations in Thailand, you will find fish species here that you won't see in the Similan Islands, such as Napoleon Wrasse, Yellow-masked Angelfish, Bumphead Parrot fish, Tomato Anemone fish and Barramundi, as well as lots of Turtles.
4 dives – early in the morning we will experience the wild nature of the Surin Islands and the smaller islands. We begin the day with a dive on the Surin Islands and then go further to Richelieu Rock, one of the best known diving places in Thailand. Here one can find almost everything, from Seahorse to schools of Barracudas, Tunas and Cuttlefish. Also big pelagics like Mantas and Whale Sharks are sighted regularly. Richelieu Rock - This horse-shoe shaped site consists of a huge central pinnacle surrounded by smaller jutting rocks, every inch of which has been colonized by something: soft corals, anemones, barrel sponges and sea fans. All of this before you even begin to explore the fascinating smaller creatures lurking in every nook and cranny. We will do 3 dives here, before we will start the return journey to Koh Tachai and Koh Bon.
2 dives – we do the first dive on Koh Tachai and then we sail for the last dive to Koh Bon, before we start the return journey to the harbour. The Koh Bon area is not, however, only full of pelagics since Critters are numerous and varied. Unfortunately our trip has come to an end and we have to say goodbye, but we hope to see you again soon!

4 Dives Surin Island and Richelieu Rock - Early in the morning we experience the wild nature of the Surin Islands and the smaller islands. We start the day with a dive on the Surin Islands and then drive to Richelieu Rock, one of the most famous dive sites in Thailand. Here you can find almost everything at any time, from seahorses and ghost pipefish to swarms of barracuda, perch and wrasse, tuna, and squid. Also, big fish like mantas and whale sharks are spotted here regularly. We will do 3 dives here before returning to Tablamu via Ko Tachai and Ko Bon.
(day of arrival) 2 dives / Ko Tachai and Koh Bon - we do the first dive on Ko Tachai and then we drive to Koh Bon for the last dive, before we start the return trip to the port in Tablamu between 2:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. to arrive. Unfortunately our trip has come to an end and we have to say goodbye, but we hope to see you again soon!
