Über Barefoot Retreats and Leisure Pvt. Ltd.
Gegründet 2005, ist Barefoot Scuba das erste und älteste PADI 5 Star Instructor Development Centre und Resort auf den Andamanen. Auf der Havelock Island (Swaraj Dweep) gelegen, betreibt die Tauchbasis einen umfassenden Betrieb—sechs für das Tauchen angepasste Schnellboote, eine Befüllstation, eine Wartungseinrichtung für Ausrüstung sowie eine Bibliothek und einen Unterrichtssaal, um Taucher auf jedem Niveau zu unterstützen, vom Anfänger bis zum Profi.
Personalisiertes Tauchen, keine Tauchfabrik
Barefoot vermeidet bewusst den überfüllten "Tauchfabrik"-Ansatz und hält ein niedriges Taucher-zu-Profis-Verhältnis mit einem Team aus 12 PADI Instructors, Divemastern und DSD Leaders. Mit drei gesprochenen Sprachen und einem Hausriff direkt vor der Tür ist es ideal für alle, die aufmerksames, gut beaufsichtigtes Tauchen wünschen.
Zertifizierte Taucher können an Fun Dives ab USD 96 teilnehmen, während das Kursangebot PADI Advanced Open Water, Deep Diver, Night Diver, Enriched Air, Digital Underwater Photographer und Emergency First Response umfasst. Zu den lokalen Tauchplätzen gehören The Wall, Dixon's Pinnacle, Johnny's Gorge, Inchkeith Wreck und Nemo Reef, mit Meereslebewesen von Haien und Schildkröten bis zu Aalen, Weichtieren und Korallen.

★ 5 · Anand Vasudevan · 2010-01-27Did my basic open water course with Barefoot Scuba last year. This is the priciest shop in the Andamans but is value for money. Coaching was very professional, had one DM to two of us. I don't have experience of other shops to comment about the safety standards, but at no point did I feel safety was compromised. Equipment was clean/ well maintained, no dive boats were over crowded. The underwater scenery was great- Andamans have some great diving fields, going by what some of the more experienced divers had to say. One concern though is that there is no hyberbaric chamber anywhere in the Andaman Islands in case of emergencies. But I will rate the shop a 5 star.
