Nassau (New Providence), Bahamas · Dive Center★ 4.5
Plan this trip with AI →Blackbeard's Morning Star is a classic 65 ft. sailing sloop that has been showing divers the Bahamas for over 35 years. Sailing from Nassau on New Providence, it trades luxury for camaraderie and adventure — an easygoing, social experience its guests often describe as "camping at sea." It's built for budget-conscious divers who care more about good diving and new friendships than polished frills.
This PADI dive boat runs up to 19 dives per week in the Exuma Cays, including shark encounters, and covers some of the best sites in the Bahamas. Courses are available on board from beginner to advanced, so newcomers and experienced divers can share the same trip. Note that nitrox is not offered.
Accommodation is dormitory style, with single or double berths fitted with privacy curtains and air-conditioning. Buffet meals are served three times daily alongside snacks and fresh fruit, and between dives you can relax in the air-conditioned lounge, watch movies, or find a shaded spot on deck. Facilities include free Wi-Fi, warm-water showers, a battery charging station, and fish ID and diving books. English and Spanish are spoken on board.

★ 5 · Lewis Winfield · 2024-04-20If you're thinking of booking a liveaboard on a budget and you can handle roughing it a little bit, then this is the boat for you. The crew are awesome, the food is great and the dives are solid. I want to give a special shout out to the cook (Gunner), some of us had dietary restrictions and he made absolutely delicious food for everyone, everytime. Just book it, you won't regret it.
