La Escafandra (Be the Ocean)

La Escafandra Diving Center (Be the Ocean) sits in the coastal village of Las Eras, on the southeast coast of Tenerife in Spain's Canary Islands. As a PADI 5 Star Dive Center, it welcomes divers of every level — from complete beginners to experienced certified divers — with a focus on small groups, personalized attention and a comfortable, safe learning environment.

Courses and diving

The team of certified instructors offers a full range of recreational courses following internationally recognized standards. Options run from the PADI Discover Scuba Diving taster (from USD 72, around 3 hours) through the PADI Open Water Diver Course and on to PADI Advanced Open Water Diver, Rescue Diver, Peak Performance Buoyancy and the ReActivate refresher — nine courses and activities in all, taught in English and Spanish.

Las Eras is known for its volcanic underwater landscapes and rich marine life. Divers explore lava formations, reefs and a wide variety of Atlantic species in clear water, with a house reef right on the doorstep. Guided dives, air fills, equipment rental and well-maintained modern gear round out a center built for both training and fun diving.
