Perched right on the waterfront at Club Náutico Les Basetes in Benissa, near Calpe on Spain's Alicante coast, Les Basetes Diving Centre is a PADI 5 Star IDC Resort where instruction is taken seriously and the sea is only steps away.

Courses for every level

Whether you're starting out or building on your logbook, the centre runs a full PADI pathway — from the Open Water Diver Course and Advanced Open Water Diver to specialties like Enriched Air, Deep Diver and Rescue Diver, plus Emergency First Response training. If you'd rather just get wet, a Half-Day Dive Trip runs around two hours, with courses and dives referenced from USD 43.

Local dive sites give the centre its character, among them Los Arcos, Nido del Águila, Tres Piedras, Roca Plana, Roca Langosta and Racó. Underwater you might encounter ocean fish, eels and echinoderms, molluscs and crustaceans, corals and anemones, among other marine life. With a retail shop, dive boat, parking and staff speaking English, Spanish, French and Italian, it suits divers of all levels.
